These couple of screen shots come from an instore performane at the HQ of label Those Old Records.

In their live performances Peter will often be seen brandishing a Reslo RB Ribbon Microphone as his vocal mic, sometimes the lesser spotted Grundig GRM ribbon mic will be utalised.

The tracks were recorded "Direct to Vinyl" on a 1930's cutting lathe at Lewis Durham's (Kitty, Daisy and Lewis) vintage analogue recording studio in Soho, London in one single rockin' session. The album is in glorious mono recorded live with no overdubs. Gear included RCA & ST&C ribbon microphones & Ampex microphone preamps.

Peter Parker's Rock 'n' Roll Club "Straight To Vinyl" is available now in a limited 300 only release on 180 gram black vinyl with laminated flip back sleeve. This LP won't be released on CD or download so get your exclusive vinyl copy pretty damn quick.. Buy direct from the label Those Old Records.

Reportedly one of the Cavern Club's Reslo Microphone up for auction £4,000+ !

So, how do you fancy bidding £4,000+ (yes, four grand plus) on a Reslo RB Ribbon Microphone reported to come from the original Cavern Club?

Well now you can over at Paul Fraser Collectables Auctions. They are having a Beatles/Cavern Club memorabilia auction also including, wait for it...a strand of Macca's hair! PFC memorablilia auctions

The mic in question is said to come from Nigel Greenberg's personal collection. Nigel Greenberg was co-owner of the Cavern Sound recording studio which was based in an adjoining empty cellar to the Cavern Club.

Sellers PFC Auctions also have a signed letter from Nigel Greenberg which accompanies the mic, part of which states: “At the time that the Cavern closed in February 1966, following Ray McFall’s bankruptcy, we had one of the Cavern’s Reslo ribbon microphones in our studio for repair to its cable...the Reslo ribbon microphone which was [sic] been in my possession ever since."

...whisper it quietly but this Reslo looks a little too clean to be an actual Cavern mic...hhmmm, as always the old adage rings true...
